Dear Family and Friends of Sveta,
As you are all aware, New York State has ordered a state wide shut down of all restaurants and bars in NYC, limited to takeout/delivery. As a result of this we will no longer be able to generate enough revenue for daily costs and most importantly, our staff and their families. The impact of COVID– 19 coronavirus outbreak was sudden and unexpected for all business owners and their employees. It has impacted everyone within Sveta, and has put undue financial strain on the families of our staff. We all hope this will be over with soon and we can continue serving you as we live and operate by Sveta’s motto: “Family First, Gratitude Always.”
That motto rings true today more than ever, as we navigate how to support our staff in the midst of this crisis. Our employees are like family to us and they are the backbone of our business. They proudly stand at the very core of the Sveta community and we have been working tirelessly to keep both them and their families financially secure.
Unfortunately government assistance is not able to cover everything that our employees need to continue to take care of their families and we at Sveta strongly believe that those funds will be insufficient to maintain our staff’s and their family’s living expenses. As in most restaurants in NYC, there are family members in Sveta that are not eligible to receive government assistance and those for whom that assistance will only cover a portion of their daily lives. We care for ALL members of our family and want to make sure that they are well taken care of during this terrible crisis.
If you are in the position to donate, we ask that you consider giving whatever you can to support our workers and their families. Whether you are in for a penny or a pound, every bit counts, and we appreciate donations in any amount.
