Hello Family and Friends,
Many of you know our mom... from friends and family in Texas to Iowa to Hawaii, this lady is WELL loved! We have been completely blown away by the love and help she has received since she and her pets were safely evacuated by boat last Sunday night. She is staying nearby at a friends house while she tries to clean-up the mess and rebuild her life after Harvey. Unfortunately, her house in Myerland was one of the worst flood hit areas by Harvey.
This picture is some of her belongings piled up in front of her house. There is still a lot more work to be done to remove sheetrock, insulation and wooden flooring before repairs can even be started. Most all her furniture and personal belongings have suffered water and mold damage, and the insurance company has not been very responsive. Scam artist “storm chasers” have made it difficult for her to contract legitimate labor crews and repairmen for all the necessary work.
She is a widowed woman who is trying very hard to keep it together, but she can't do it alone. LA has been working diligently with her to help with the physical repairs, but the two of us are young and can't help her financially unfortunately. If you have any means to offer, financially, labor, or time, we humbly ask for your support to help our mom through this difficult time. We will commit to you that ALL of the money donated here will go directly to her for making the necessary repairs to get her house back to a liveable condition. We greatly appreciate any assistance that you can provide.
