My mom Susan was diagnosed with Oropharyngeal Cancer late last month. A routine dental cleaning brought attention to a lesion at the base of her tonsils that just wouldn't heal. She had surgery to remove and biopsy, which found squamous cell carcinoma. Doctors have an aggresive plan to treat-- 6 weeks of daily Proton Therapy (a new targeted form of Radiation), and weekly Chemotheraphy for 6 weeks.
Susan is a loving mother, friend & grandmother. She is a spirited, strong and healthy woman---with lots of love and support from family and friends!
This fundraiser is to cover a portion of treatment expenses that medical insurance won't--to include per visit co-pays (costing over $300 a week), and cases of Ensure (meal replacement drink) as she will need these for meals/ nutrition during treatment to this sensitive area.
Positive support, prayers, and loving kindness are so welcomed and will help support and bolster our familiy.
