Spende geschützt
"As you all know it has been a difficult last few weeks for Susan and for most of this time Alley has been by her side.
We have been anxiously awaiting Susan's bone marrow biopsy results. The results are back and are not what Susan or we hoped for. Dr Z spent time with Susan and Alley and recommended that "supportive care" is the appropriate path now.
Tonight Susan was admitted to our beautiful, peaceful in-patient hospice here in Wilmington. The name of the hospice is Lower Cape Fear Life Care.
The admission to hospice means that Susan will no longer receive blood and platelet infusions. She will receive whatever other care is needed for symptom control and comfort.
I know this is very difficult to read and process. Our minds and hearts want to slip into denial; but we must pull ourselves together and let our amazing Susan know how much very much we love her and how important she has been in our lives. We also have to wrap loving arms around Alley, the kids and Susan's family.
Visiting hours at Hospice are 8AM to 8PM.
Susan is a force and a ray of sunshine in so many lives. Alley is happy for you to visit any time during regular hours. Please keep your visits to 30 minutes or less as Susan tires easily. Thank you all for loving our Susan."
