Hello family, friends, fellow martial artists, former co-workers and those willing to help.
For those of you who don't know me, my name is Ron Stephenson I'm the Founder/ Head Instructor of Street Unity and Survival Self Defense (Otherwise known as S.U.S Self-Defense)
I've never been one to ask for donations, in fact I find it very hard to do but I know the importance of helping and giving back to "our greatest commodity...Our youth.. for they are our future" as my best friend, Co- Founder and Assistant Instructor Teddy Campbell would say
In celebration of his 1st Birthday in heaven, his life and in his honor I'm starting the S.U.S Self Defense Teddy Campbell Scholarship fund.
Our Assistant Head Instructor and co-founder Teddy Campbell passed away suddenly from Covid-19 in January. He was a retired New York City Police Department Detective, worked Security at the ASPCA and Reliant Security Company. He is known for getting along with everyone, his outstanding dance moves, his barrel tone voice, his classy dress code and treating everyone he met with humility, and respect as well his infectious smile. No matter what was going on in his life Every single weekend for 21 years until him catching COVID he spent giving back and teaching at our school. He shared a extreme love and passion for our students as he did his own kids and constantly stressed the importance of knowledge and education as well as supporting them by showing up at their life events or giving whatever he could to see them smile and be successful.
This scholarship will go to a
-S.U.S Instructor or Instructors who have earned their Blackbelt under my and his instruction and are presently teaching at our school
and

-They are graduating High School and presently enrolled to attend their first year of College in September.
This scholarship is to help them with their college needs so they could successfully graduate, accomplish their future goals and continue to give back to their communities as all our Instructors are required to do
