Survivor to Advocate: Help Me Start Over & Support Others

Hi, my name is Alexis S., and I never imagined I’d be sharing this part of my life so publicly—but after a video of my ex committing domestic violence went viral, I realized that staying silent helps no one and so many women have reached out expressing gratitude for my willingness to share.

Friday, April 18th, my ex unexpectedly came to my home and attempted to kick down my door as well many other violent acts leading him to eventually jump my balcony and enter my home through a unlocked bedroom window.

That video shows a moment of my life that was filled with fear, pain, and confusion. Right now, I need help relocating to a safe, stable home where I can begin rebuilding my life without fear and provide safety to my children.

I’m asking for your support with:

• Moving expenses (first month’s rent, movers, basic necessities)

• Mental health support

• Legal fees or safety planning costs

But this isn’t just about me.

I don’t want this moment to be defined only by trauma—I want it to be the start of something that gives other survivors hope. Once I’m stable, I plan to use part of the funds and my platform to:

• Share resources and education about domestic violence

• Support other victims through small grants or mutual aid
