Dear All
I am an Environmental Protection enthusiast with broad experience in Environmental Impact Assessment. I am also a mother of two great girls.
One of my greatest desires is to have an environment that is almost free from pollution. Accordingly, I am embarking on a project where communities would participate in protecting the environment for our children and future generations, thereby preserving our natural ecosystem and local biodiversity.
One would submit that we all have a role to play towards achieving a clean and healthy environment as this is what history would embrace us for and I have no doubt that if we all strive to make our locality free from pollution and environmental hazards, we certainly would have great results.
Consequently, this has pushed me towards the development of an app that will encourage local community participation in reporting any environmental incident(s) that will have a negative impact on our environment.
One of the fundamental issues faced by EPAs especially in "developing countries" like Nigeria is the lack of adequate manpower to conduct environmental monitoring. This is as a result of large land mass (coverage area) and financial constraint in conducting frequent random inspections to identify affected communities.
It is salient to note that these authorities cannot bring to bear their presence everywhere.
Necessarily, I am trying to develop an app with an app developer who shares the same passion and interest on Environmental related matters as I do. I believe i have been offered a good deal. The project is set to commence in the next few weeks and i am more than excited to kick off this great environmental and social initiative.
This app aims to solve the problem faced by EPAs and would enable community residents to relay information on environmental issues timely especially in areas their attention are really needed but are unable to reach.
The app will enable its users capture data and in like manner pass it on timely to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) or Regulator who will promptly act to remediate any environmental issue, in other to avoid damage to biodiversity.
Users will be able to download the app on both ios and android phone(s). Once they locate or sight an environmental incident/ issue, they log into the app and provide the necessary details. Once the information is submitted, it is passed along to the responsible EPA for resolution.
Your financial support will really be a great deal to me as i help in my little way to Save the Planet, through the provision of timely information to prevent reoccurrence of environmental incidents.
