Supporting the Bethea Family

In February of 2024, tragedy struck the Bethea family as John and Ida Bethea faced the unimaginable loss of their beloved daughter, Inatte “Nicole” Bethea. Nicole, a beacon of light in their lives, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 35, leaving behind two beautiful daughters, aged 6 and 2.

John and Ida, who are in their seventies and now retired after both working two to three jobs to provide for their family, find themselves grappling with the dual burden of grief and responsibility. They have lovingly stepped forward to become the primary caregivers for their two young granddaughters, shouldering the weight of nurturing and providing for them in their mother's absence.

Known affectionately as "Big Mama" within their family and community, Ida has always been a pillar of strength and love. Throughout her life, she has selflessly cared for not only her own child, but also nieces and grandchildren, embodying the essence of maternal love and resilience.

As John and Ida navigate this challenging journey of grief and childcare, we want to come together as friends, family, neighbors, and generous strangers to provide a foundation of support. This GoFundMe campaign aims to alleviate the financial strain they face, ensuring that they have the resources necessary to provide a stable and nurturing environment for their granddaughters.
