Supporting Princess' Food Justice Efforts

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about my fundraiser! I am extremely passionate about food justice work and a firm believer that access to healthy food is a human right. My personal journey in advocating for this social cause has shown me that this fact is not everyone’s reality. Learning about the communities disproportionately affected by food injustice has been a transformative experience, so much so I’ve sprung into action since the age of 10!
Through service projects and being a part of organizations such as Camp Sojourner, Sankofa Community Farm, GlobeMed, and residential greenhouse programs -I’ve had the opportunity to address the many facets of this issue. I’ve found an impactful inlet of food justice work in my community through the installation of garden beds and partnering with community oriented organizations in an effort to help them to sufficiently combat food injustice. However, my ability to do the work I am most passionate about has been restricted to certain areas in Philadelphia and solely dependent on the probability of securing a vehicle capable of transporting bins full of soil, tools, garden beds, etc. I am fundraising to purchase a truck to make community outreach more accessible. I’ve recently partnered with Bethel AME Church in Ardmore, PA to assist in their garden bed program! The increased mobility a vehicle would provide would be tremendous -helping myself and volunteers reach more communities and achieve food sovereignty.
All of the support aiding me on this mission would mean so much to me and the communities I would be directly supporting! Please follow my efforts on this journey for updates, current projects, and to see firsthand the food justice work I am involved in!
