With heavy hearts, we are raising funds for my brother, Joe, and my sister-in-law, Kathryn, as they grieve the unimaginable loss of their beloved son, Bruno Louis Cecchini.

In mid-July 2025, Kathryn and Joe were informed that Bruno had Intrauterine Growth Restriction (IUGR). As a result, Kathryn was required to attend frequent medical appointments—approximately three to four times a week—for ongoing monitoring and scans. Due to these complications, Kathryn was unable to maintain a regular work schedule and had to pause her private nail art studio business.

In August 2025, Kathryn was diagnosed with preeclampsia. Just days later, her Maternal Fetal Medicine doctor advised that she be admitted to the hospital immediately for close observation. During her stay, Kathryn developed HELLP syndrome, and shortly thereafter, Bruno Louis Cecchini was born via emergency C-section on August 18, 2025, born premature at 29 weeks gestational age.

At birth, Bruno weighed just 1 pound 8 ounces and measured 12 inches long, yet from his very first moments, he showed remarkable strength and determination. Over the next six months, Bruno fought tirelessly, growing stronger each day and making incredible progress that filled his parents and family with hope. He overcame countless challenges and showed everyone around him just how much of a fighter he truly was.

As the months passed, Bruno reached incredible milestones. From a tiny newborn, he grew to 23 inches long and 16 pounds, a testament to his resilience and fighting spirit. His strength brought hope, joy, and optimism to his parents, and Joe and Kathryn were preparing to bring him home soon—dreaming of the day they would finally begin life together as a family outside the hospital.

Tragically, Bruno passed away in the loving arms of his parents, Kathryn and Joe, on Friday, February 27, 2026.

No parent should ever have to endure the pain of losing a child. During this heartbreaking time, we are hoping to ease some of the financial burden so Kathryn and Joe can focus on healing and honoring Bruno’s memory.

Kathryn has been out of work since July 2025 due to complications from her pregnancy. Funds raised will help support the family with:

• Cremation and memorial services

• Food and daily living support during this time of grief

• Therapy and mental health support

• Any unexpected expenses that come with such a sudden loss
