Supporting Betty Hansen

If you've lived in the lower Similkameen for any amount of time, you know (or know of) Betty Hansen, our own tireless cat rescuer. Catching, feeding, fixing and rehoming, she has helped countless dumped and feral cats find their way to a better life. Maybe you've called her about a stray on your property, maybe you've offered up your bottles and cans to her to help support her efforts.

Recently, her life has taken a challenging turn with her husband now in the hospital, her van in need of significant (and costly) repairs and more. She's clearly feeling overwhelmed right now and so many things are in transition.

Following in the footsteps of Rona Clancy-Brewin, who organized a GoFundMe two  years ago for Betty (that raised $2000 for her!), I've offered to step up to organize another.

All funds raised from this campaign will go directly to Betty to support her in whatever ways she needs most. At minimum, let's take away some of the financial stress she's under so that she can focus on being healthy and strong for herself, her husband and when she's ready, her cat rescue.

In the meantime, please understand that it's not business-as-usual with her cat rescue--let's focus on giving her the support she's earned from all her good works for this community!
