Support for Dad's Untimely Death

Donation protected
Dearest friends and family,

While this is hard for us to admit, we need your help. With dad's untimely death, we find ourselves faced with unforseen expenses and debt. Even though we all know we will go at some point, this was completely sideswiped us and we are so unprepared to handle this immense burden. With no life insurance, the financial burden falls heavily on us, the kids and their spouses.

A native of Oklahoma City, Gary Smith, 62, devoted the last 10 years of his life to our Lord Christ, as he volunteered much of his time to Eastlake Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City. Additionally, family was of utmost importance to him. Any projects or needs his sons or daughter had, he was there in a heartbeat to find a solution – no task too small or too large. He loved his new grandbabies with all of his heart and wanted to spend every minute with them. His generous loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.

While he had an impressive career of business ventures, his latest enterprise in the last year was with his son, Zach, with Redline Transportation.

We want to lay him to rest with his parents and grandparents at Resthaven Funeral Home in Oklahoma City. With this as many of you may know, comes extreme expenses, and with no life insurance, we are struggling to foot the bill on our own.

The money will be used for all of the funeral service and burial expenses. We have to pay up front before the service next Wednesday, so the sooner the better on any support. In the meantime, we will have to get a loan through our bank to cover the expenses to get him laid to rest immediately since the funeral home has no financing options.

We are unsure how to tell you how much this means to us. It has already been extremely difficult to get up each day without our father in the last few days. The pain is unbearable, and all of the arrangements are overwhelming. To any of you who have lost a parent or other close loved ones and been responsible for the funeral, you will understand. Gary was our everything and we will miss him so much.

Your support in any form or fashion would mean the world to us. We will never be able to fully express to you how thankful we are to help us relieve some of us this burden as we begin a lifetime of grieving. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers if that is all you can give at this time. We are so grateful for each of you who are helping us through this time.

Much love,
The Smiths
