Official campaign for the short "Last Order" directed & produced by senior film students (Class '25) of Washburn University.
Last Order is a gripping psychological action thriller that explores themes of identity, redemption, and the inescapable past. The story follows Jack Kinnett, a former operative trying to leave behind a violent history by living the life he desperately wants to live. A normal 9-5 job away from the violence where he gets to make his own life decisions. But when a package arrives at his mundane office job, containing a photo of the woman he cares about and a burner phone, his past comes crashing back.
Victor Armand, a ruthless figure from Jack’s past, forces him into an impossible mission—eliminate "John Smith" (his alter ego that represents the life that Jack desperately wants that Victor created for Jack). As Jack spirals into moral conflict, he faces the ultimate choice: live as a pawn under Victor’s control or reclaim his agency through one final, irreversible act.
With tense action sequences, emotional depth, and a haunting climax, Last Order delivers a cinematic experience blending the psychological intensity of John Wick (2014) where the protagonist is haunted by his past and pushed back into action to help someone he cares about. The film’s raw character-driven narrative and suspenseful twists make it a compelling investment opportunity for those looking to back a high-stakes thriller with strong audience appeal for a student film created by Mass Media students at Washburn University.
