Hi, I’m Heinrich. My wife, Vivian, has been diagnosed over 3 years ago with stage 4 colorectal cancer. She’s been fighting, undergoing over 55 chemo treatments, radiation, and even surgery. She’s so strong and brave but lately the traditional chemo used to best battle this particular cancer/mutation hasn’t been working. She has tried other approaches and those side effects were either horrible or they just didn’t work. The cancer has affected her lungs and she’s been on a steady O2 supplement and has a very hard time without it.

We met over 8 years ago and shortly thereafter started dating, meeting in a hospital as we are both RNs and married 3 years ago (married about 3 months before her sudden horrible diagnosis. She hasn’t worked since the 2022 diagnosis). Currently I work 3 twelve hour shifts a week and am with her all the other times but we also have 3 sweet/older/loveable/needy dogs at home that can definitely zap all her remaining energy. She’s a lot more limited in what she does now and I hate that I can’t be there 100% of the time because of the need to work, but more than anything, I want to be by her side. It is anticipated that Vivian is about to go on hospice care, because her treatments are not effective any longer and I want to be with her the remaining time she has left with us all. I’m so proud of my beautiful wife and her strength she has shown throughout all these horrible times but now she can really rely on me and the generosity if YOU can help me achieve the freedom to go on a work leave and support my dear Vivian. I don’t know an exact amount of $ and length of time away from work to help her, just planning ahead. Thank you so much.
