I understand it may not be the most urgent fundraiser, but it reflects my current reality and a desperate situation. I am actively seeking full-time employment after relocating back to Texas following the passing of my parents and starting life over from scratch at the age of 57.
My name is Victor, and I am seeking assistance to cover truck repairs that exceed my financial capacity. This past year has been extremely challenging since my mother's passing, as I faced homelessness, unemployment, and the loss of all family belongings while being stranded in the Pacific Northwest. Eventually, I returned to the-Fort Worth area to start over. I made progress by working as a substitute teacher and applying for jobs, many of which either fell through or were delayed. After finding a small space and undergoing an interview process, I received a job offer after 90 days and the start of the new year. However, I was laid off just four days into the month due to tariffs and company layoffs.
Additionally, while training at the office, I encountered a workplace filled with sick individuals, which resulted in my contracting both the flu and a cold. It took three weeks to recover fully and spread the illness to the children I work with. During this time, the truck was in the shop for what initially seemed like a simple fix but required more extensive repairs. I had no choice but to authorize the repairs with the understanding that I would pay weekly from my minimal earnings, just enough to manage until I secured stable employment. With the holidays, substitute teachers do not receive pay, leading to a lost month of income. I then took an unfruitful job and spent three weeks sick before returning to substitute teaching, which will not provide payment for another two weeks.
I am in desperate need of help. I am not asking for recognition or rewards for my efforts, but this is my final attempt to seek assistance before becoming homeless and losing transportation, which would leave me unable to move forward.
