Support university education for Gaza refugee siblings
Beschermde donatie
Hi,
my name is Mohammad. My sister, Raghad, and I have been displaced out of Gaza as a result of the ongoing war. We have lost our home and all of our belongings; and are now living in Egypt. We were both 2nd year university students in Gaza. Unfortunately, all of the universities in Gaza have been shelled and destroyed, and we subsequently miraculously made it out of Gaza into Egypt. We vow to restart our university path and will both be studying Bachelor of Commerce at Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. This is one of the top universities in the Middle East.
We have already lost 2 years worth of university studies followed by nearly 2 years being out of school as we scavenge for an opportunity to study in Egypt. Such opportunity is now here.
The 4 year university tuition in Egypt will cost $15,000 US per student for a total of $30,000 USD (~$40,000 CAD) for the both of us.
We are determined to start this September (2025) and are both registered and slated to begin this journey. However, our financial situation is a major barrier that has been halting this journey.
Every contribution, no matter how small, means keeping two refugee students in university, empowering a future (very vulnerable and disadvantaged) Palestinian generation, stabilizing future families, and providing a chance to deprived and impoverished Gaza refugees.
