As Ukraine fights for its freedom, millions of Ukrainians (mostly women and children) are fleeing to safety in neighbouring countries. Nearly 2 million Ukrainians have crossed the Polish border since the war started on February 24th.

 

Polish organizations, volunteers, and hosts have shown incredible kindness to Ukrainian refugees and have gone above and beyond to assist them in any way they can.

 

Understandably, many relief efforts are currently focused on the humanitarian emergency within Ukraine. Those who flee the country often arrive at the border with no more than one suitcase with enough supplies only for a few days.

 

There is currently an urgent need to support Polish volunteers and organizations welcoming Ukrainian refugees into their country. They are stretched very thin for resources and want to continue assisting Ukrainians the best they can.

 

This fundraiser is to purchase supplies that are needed at the Polish border. I am travelling with an initial batch of supplies to be distributed to Ukrainian refugees. I have already connected with many volunteers supporting operations at refugee centres near the Przemysl border. They have told me there is an immediate need for medical supplies, personal hygiene items like underwear, and warm blankets.

 

The funds raised will be used to purchase supplies based on needs identified by those working directly with Ukrainian refugees arriving through Przemysl.
