Kimberly Fickerson is a film student at Emerson College, completing her Bachelor's in Fine Arts (BFA) by creating a 20-minute capstone film, The Right Time. Inspired by the radical environmentalist movement in Oregon in the late '90s and the current environmental and governmental clash in the United States, The Right Time is about a performatively radicalized recent college graduate, Will, who arrives on a hippie Massachusetts farm for seasonal work and becomes involved in an extremist environmentalist group fighting local deforestation. However, as their militant protest approaches, Will must confront his hesitation to commit fully to the radical cause.
The Right Time brings to light a common trope of this generation: we post images online from the comfort of our homes in a performative show of support for a cause, when the ‘right time’ to go out into the world and actively fight for change is now.
Your donations will support transportation, food, booking locations, equipment, and any other necessary expenses to help bring this film to life.
Thank you for your support!
