While spending time together as a family during their daughter’s April vacation, The Peterson Family experienced an unforeseen accident. This has placed Ryan in the hospital, currently having undergone multiple surgeries and additional expected in the future. While Ryan is in good spirits and stable, there is still a long road ahead. The timeline to a full recovery is still unclear at this time.

Kelsi will need to provide full-time care and support to her husband during his recovery, causing both Ryan and Kelsi to be out of work for an undetermined amount of time.

Currently, Ryan is hospitalized over an hour away from their residence, causing Kelsi to commute about 3 hours daily to support her husband while also keeping a routine and a sense of normalcy for their 5-year-old daughter.
