Support the Montour Family in Northglenn

Donation protected
On July 4, 2020, an unidentified man wearing a stars and stripes shirt walked onto US Air Force Veteran Gerald Montour and his wife Linda’s property in Northglenn. The man stole three flags, symbols of the family's culture: An American flag, a Diné Nation flag, and a Cheyenne River Lakota flag. After taking the flags, the man damaged the front door, and taunted the family (all caught on a doorbell camera).

We invite you to give what you can to support the Montour family in replacing/repairing the stolen and damaged property. However, this fundraising effort is not about simply trying to compensate the Montours, and a financial contribution will not erase the pain the incident has caused. Rather, your contribution is one way to show the Montour Family that we support them, we care about them, and we will not tolerate racism in our community.

“To violate me as a Native American, to violate my people and my wife, is wrong. It has now put us in a situation where we live on edge.”
-Gerald Montour
