Message from Jacob & Family:
Dear friends and family,
It is with the heaviest hearts that we share the devastating news that on Friday, September 26, our beloved brother Joey was tragically struck and killed by a driver who failed to yield. Joey was just beginning his life, full of love and potential, and our family is shattered by this sudden loss.
Joey and I grew up side by side playing Pokémon games, watching Pokemon, and dreaming together. I still remember him always beating the games so quickly and then helping me pass and beat mine. He was always so good at things, whereas I just liked collecting all the different Pokémon. Those hobbies we shared as kids eventually shaped my path into becoming a full-time artist, something I never would have pursued without his influence. Joey’s favorite Pokémon was Shaymin, I'd ask him why but I think he liked how cute and rare he was. It was a fitting reflection of the love he brought into our lives.
Nothing could have prepared us for this tragedy. In addition to the unimaginable grief, we are now faced with the heavy burden of losing our brother.
We are humbly asking for support whether through donations or by sharing this page to support our family in these devastating times. Every contribution, no matter the size, will go towards supporting our family in this time of grief and loss.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for holding us up in this devastating time. Joey is survived by his loving mother Sandra, his father Ouranos, and his brothers Jacob, Brandon, and Michael, who will carry his memory with them always.

Erik:
This GoFundMe was created for my best friend, Jacob, and his family to support them. It will be handled by Jacob and I for his brother, who I met, and meant so much to his family. He was far too young and had his whole life ahead of him. Please help this grieving family to support them in this unexpected, devastating moment.
Please, if you are able, consider making a donation to give this family some relief as they navigate their grief. Even $10, $20, or $50 can make a meaningful difference when combined with the generosity of others. And if you cannot donate, sharing this page is another way to offer support.
Together, we can ease some of their burden and honor Joey’s memory in a tangible way.
Thank you to everyone, we appreciate your support.
