<div>It is with the heaviest hearts that we share the devastating news that on Friday, September 26, our beloved brother Joey was tragically struck and killed by a driver who failed to yield. Joey was just beginning his life, full of love and potential, and our family is shattered by this sudden loss.

</div>

<div>Joey and I grew up side by side playing Pokémon games, watching Pokemon, and dreaming together. I still remember him always beating the games so quickly and then helping me pass and beat mine. He was always so good at things, whereas I just liked collecting all the different Pokémon. Those hobbies we shared as kids eventually shaped my path into becoming a full-time artist, something I never would have pursued without his influence. Joey’s favorite Pokémon was Shaymin, I'd ask him why but I think he liked how cute and rare he was. It was a fitting reflection of the love he brought into our lives.

<div>Nothing could have prepared us for this tragedy. In addition to the unimaginable grief, we are now faced with the heavy burden of losing our brother.
