Many of you know our story (posted on Facebook January 9th), how on Tuesday night (January 7th), I went to my dad's home located at 378 W. Mountain View St., in Altadena, California to check on it (as my dad was in the hospital) and stay the night and go to work from there in the morning. I had no idea that when I left that morning at 5 am to go to work it would be the last time I would see our family's home again. In this home, there are 53 years of memories from 1972 to the present. My father and mother, Ben L. and Jessie Mae, Derrick, Scheleise, Colette, myself, and Tracy all grew up in and went to school from this home. Seeing the home reduced to ashes, as you can imagine, is a hard pill to swallow. All of those years of memories in this home will always be cherished, but our hearts are saddened by this devastation. Our father has lost the most as he has lost everything in the fire and has to start all over again.
All funds will be used to support the family as we journey back from such a devastating loss.
