My name is Fatimah Mateen, and I had the privilege of meeting Reverend Leslie Yvette Davis in 2013 when we began working together at Kaiser. From day one, she became my “popcorn buddy,” and we shared countless laughs and heartfelt conversations over snacks and stories. Leslie was more than a coworker—she was a sister in spirit, always full of life, love, and questions about fitness that kept us smiling.

She was a bright light in this world, one that was dimmed far too soon. I created this fundraiser to honor her legacy and to support the beautiful family she leaves behind—her daughters Bille and Raven, and her precious grandchildren, her mom, grandmother and a host of other precious family members. Every donation is a reflection of the love she gave so freely.

Help Support the Family of Reverend Leslie Yvette Davis

On May 10th, just days before Mother’s Day, our beloved mother, grandmother, friend, and spiritual leader, Reverend Leslie Yvette Davis, was tragically taken from us due to senseless gun violence. She was doing what she did best—nurturing and protecting her family—when her life was cut short while babysitting her four beloved grandchildren during a Mother’s Day sleepover.

Reverend Leslie was a pillar of her community and a woman of deep and unwavering faith. She dedicated her life to service, both through her ministry and her daily acts of love and compassion. A devoted mother to Bille and Raven, and a doting grandmother, she lived a life rooted in prayer, purpose, and unconditional love. Her faith was the guiding light for so many, and her loss has left a profound void in both her family and her church community.

Now, Bille and Raven are left to carry the weight of this unimaginable tragedy while caring for their children—Leslie’s grandchildren—who were with her that night. This act of violence has not only broken their hearts, but also placed an overwhelming emotional and financial burden on the family.

We are raising funds to support Leslie’s daughters and grandchildren as they work to heal and rebuild their lives. Your donations will help provide:

Trauma-informed grief counseling for the grandchildren and family

Immediate financial support for Bille and Raven

Long-term stability for the grandchildren

Educational support for the children’s future

Legal, memorial, and any unforeseen expenses

All proceeds will go directly to the Davis family.

Reverend Leslie lived a life of service, faith, and fierce love. It’s now our turn to return some of that love and support to the family she held so dear.
