The "Living Museum Linz" (LML) is an innovative cultural space located in TABAKFABRIK Linz, Austria, and part of the international Living Museum Society, a global initiative promoting mental health through art and creativity. Founded as an association, the LML is an open, inclusive atelier, art space, and contemporary museum that fosters artistic self-expression, participation, and emotional healing.

Primarily dedicated to people with mental health challenges, the Living Museum treats participants as artists, offering them freedom, dignity, and a supportive community where diagnoses and labels are left at the door. At the same time, it welcomes everyone - from beginners to professional artists - encouraging exchange, creativity, and social connection.

Founded by an art therapist and artist together with a former NGO worker in international disaster relief, the project provides professional guidance in art, psychology, and education. It addresses a clear gap in the Linz region, where opportunities for creative expression for people with mental health challenges remain limited and undervalued.

Since its official launch in September 2025, around ten artists—including people with disabilities and political refugees—regularly attend. The project is entirely self-financed and volunteer-run at the present moment. While a private donor currently covers rent until summer 2026, long-term funding remains uncertain.

Financial support will help secure rent, materials, workshops, and sustainable development. Every contribution strengthens an inclusive space where art becomes a path to well-being, empowerment, and community.
