Support Strada's Emergency Vet Care

Hello. It’s Alyssa Travis. As many of you know, my dog Strada ran away while I was in Florida. He was running around on the cold streets of Rotterdam NY for almost 72 hours. His dad, Cody (my boyfriend) and I frantically tried getting home from Florida immediately. Spending over 2k in plane tickets. A couple days after he went missing we finally were able to get home. As soon as we got home, we searched. Within 20 minutes we miraculously found him. We are beyond grateful to have him back. We thought we were all good. I was wrong. We rushed him to the emergency vet the next morning, where I am writing this now. The vets at the emergency vet in Latham, suspect Strada was hit by a car, as he won’t use his back legs and has road rash on his body. They also suspect he has been poisoned by something toxic he ate. The bill just to test for what they want to start testing for, is almost $2,000. That’s just to start. Mommy and Daddy can only afford so much… for our baby boy. Please help in any way you can. Share! Share! Share! Any amount is greatly appreciated and we are so thankful for you all! UPDATE The vet confirmed he was hit by a car… more like side swiped by one. He also did indeed eat something toxic. He was diagnosed with a Pubis Fracture, dislocated Sternum, severely bruised Spleen, and his blood work was all super high… suggesting trauma. He also has physical abrasions and missing fur from road rash. He is now home after spending all day in the vet. He’s strictly on spoiled house dog bed rest! He’s getting all the love! His next appointment is this Tuesday 10/29/24. That will be with my primary veterinarian. The main concern for him now, is his spleen. The bone injuries have to heal by themselves with time. Only time will tell. Fingers crossed he has a full recovery! ❤️‍ As for those wondering why I’m raising up to 5k, Strada is no way in the clear yet. He has a very long road to recovery ahead of him. Hundreds and hundreds of dollars, in future vet appointments. Hopefully he won’t need surgery to remove his spleen, fingers crossed! I appreciate you all so so so much! Thank you!
