Support Samantha's Fight Against Stage 4 Cancer

Donation protected
Samantha had relentless headaches for 2 weeks. Nothing seemed to help. Finally, her Dr. ordered a CAT scan. It revealed a lesion on her brain along with significant swelling. That swelling was the cause of her headaches. After 12 hours and additional scans, she was transferred to Theda Clark Hospital where she underwent brain surgery to remove the lesion. After surgery, Samantha was told that it was indeed a tumor and that it was metastatic. After all results were back, it was confirmed that she has stage 4 lung cancer with metastases to her brain. Soon she will have a PET scan, which is more detailed than a CAT scan, to know where, if any, other metastases have occurred. Since having another surgery is an invasive and risky procedure, our hope is they can stop the growth with chemo and radiation.

She will be starting radiation therapy on the metastases in the brain, and when that is under control, they will begin chemo on the lung cancer.

It was a matter of a few days, and Samantha is facing a long road. In a matter of a few days, Samantha's life has been forever changed. She cannot go back to work, and already the bills are starting to come in. Any help with unexpected medical costs would be greatly appreciated. Thanksgiving and Christmas will look a lot different, all while trying to wrap her head around the realization that she has stage 4 cancer, which is incurable. This in itself is taking an emotional toll on her, and finances shouldn't be an added burden. This is just the beginning of Samantha's long journey. She will have great days and bad days, horrible and sad days, sick and debilitating days, and as a close family, we want to do what we can to help lift some financial burdens so her family can focus on her healing and well-being.

Samantha is a mother, daughter, and grandmother. She is engaged to be married and is a friend to so many. With a supportive family that loves her we will be with her every step of the way, I'm asking if you could help in any way, big or small, it would be greatly appreciated. If all you can do is share this and keep her in your prayers, that would be appreciated also.

We love you, Samantha.
