Support Sahr and Rayyan's Recovery from Fire

Hello, my name is Sahr and my partner Rayyan and I live together. Our apartment suffered a large fire on March 17th, 2025 and we lost basically everything. The fire started from a neighbor's apartment and it spread to ours.

We are reaching out to our community to help raise money for vet bills, essentials (groceries, toiletries, etc.), moving expenses, and replacing some of the things we lost in the fire.

We filed an insurance claim but it is difficult to know how much we'll receive (if anything at all) or when we'll get compensated, since they are still denying liability before inspections and claim we need receipts for everything damaged - which we don't have completely.

We have two cats, Mara and Bumsy, that were in the apartment during the fire and subjected to the fire and smoke for several hours while we were at work. Bumsy has asthma and other pre-existing health issues. We were able to get them out of the apartment before any serious damage was done to their health, and they were taken to the vet immediately. We are carefully monitoring their health/breathing and will need to take them back to the vet again for check-ups. Currently, we've been staying at a friend's apartment and we have spent almost all of our savings on essentials and vet bills.

We lost so many valuable things including food, furniture, family mementos, clothing, computers, tvs, art, photos, cookware, etc. This apartment was our first real home and it was so special to us. We are so devastated and the grief is overwhelming.
