Help Support Robert “Gator” Burch Through His Recovery
Acute osteomyelitis — a serious infection of the bone — is what started Robert “Gator” Burch’s long medical battle in June 2024, when poor blood flow in his lower left artery prevented his foot from healing properly. What followed has been over a year of surgeries, setbacks, and hospital stays that have turned his life upside down.
Robert’s first surgery on June 18, 2024, was to restore blood flow to his leg. A second surgery in July that year was a bypass in preparation for a possible amputation. That same month, he was hospitalized for 15 days, unable to work and fighting infection. Despite his resilience, complications set in, leading to three more surgeries. After more than 10 operations over 14 months, Robert ultimately underwent a below-the-knee amputation of his left leg on August 2, 2025.
Many of you know Robert from his years with CCSO (June 1998 – October 2014), where he was well-respected for his kindness, his integrity, and his willingness to help anyone in need. Since then, he has held several jobs, his most recent being with Flex-N-Gate Security, where he started in September 2023. Unfortunately, due to his health struggles, he hasn’t been able to work consistently, and the financial strain has become overwhelming.
This fundraiser is being created to help ease the burden of both ongoing medical expenses and monthly living costs while Robert continues his recovery and adjusts to life after amputation.
Robert has always been someone who treated others with kindness and respect — the kind of person who would go out of his way to lend a hand or a kind word. Now, it’s our turn to be there for him.
Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a difference. If you’re unable to give financially, please consider offering your prayers, encouragement, or sharing this fundraiser with others.
Thank you for standing with Robert during this difficult journey.
