Support Recovery After Hurricane Helene's Impact
Donation protected
On the night of 9/26/24 and the early hours of 9/27/24, Hurricane Helene made its way to my hometown of Evans, GA, a suburb of Augusta, GA. My mom was at her house in the neighborhood of Halifax North when it hit. Trees came down and destroyed the side of the house. She was rescued by a family friend and taken to my brother's house with no injuries except for psychologically.
My mom is Karen Luke, and she and my dad raised me, my brother, and my sister at that house. She has lived there for 40 years! When my dad passed away in 2007, that left her there alone. She does own her house and has done well with keeping it up over the years. Just this past summer, she had new siding and a new roof put on that caused her to change companies for homeowners' insurance. So currently, she has no homeowners' insurance, which couldn't have happened at a worse time.
I know my family isn't the only one impacted by Hurricane Helene. My heart and prayers go out to all that were impacted. My mom could just use whatever help she can get as it will take some time for repairs. Thank you and God bless!
