I am Vickie Sledge and have set this account up for the educational fund for our grandchildren, Raylan, age 6, and Tillie, age 3. My son and their father, Jackson Sledge, died on 10/13/25 from an accidental drug overdose. His battle with addiction was a long and difficult one, but it does not define the kind and compassionate person he was. Jackson had an infectious laugh, a deep love for his family, especially Raylan and Tillie, and was always giving and helping the downtrodden. I think that’s one reason he became an EMT; he wanted to help others. Addiction is a disease that brings so much pain and shame, but we hope that in sharing his story, we can raise awareness and help other families facing this terrible disease.

We are shattered by the loss of our son and ask for your thoughts and prayers.
