Support Pepper's Medical Expenses

Hi everyone - our sweet kitty Pepper has had a medical emergency and we need some help.

Pepper had been throwing up consistently (every 30 minutes) and couldn’t keep any food or water down. We had a vet appointment for the next day but ultimately decided to take him to the emergency vet with the normal vet office’s advice…. after initial bloodwork was inconclusive they did an x-ray and found a foreign object in his GI tract.

We made the difficult decision to hospitalize him overnight to get him plenty of fluids for an ultrasound this morning, where we will hopefully get more answers. We have already had to put down 2,500 dollars with the possibility that services rendered have already surpassed this amount - our best case scenario is they advise the object can pass on its own, give him more fluids, and send him home. The worst case scenario is a surgery that brings our total cost to over 8k, possibly more if there are complications.

We will keep this page updated as we know more about total cost and his vitals - last we heard, he is stable and has been very sweet but scared of all the new friends (and surely admirers) he’s met over there. With risk of offending Mochi, we joke that Pepper is our “perfect kitty” - a little shy, always tolerant of Mochi’s attacks, infamously fond of a windowsill.
