SUPPORT PALAPA RESTAURANT
In the 15 years since we opened, we have worked hard to be the best Mexican restaurant we felt this community deserved. With our traditional Mexican food made only with the finest ingredients, our Mariachi Cielo Azul every Friday night, our leisurely weekend breakfasts with homemade tortillas, we have proudly created jobs, paid our fair share of taxes, given back to nonprofits and schools and built a community.
With the onset of the Covid-19 disaster, we are faced with a perilous situation. We are running out of cash to pay our rent, utilities, payroll, food vendors and assure that we have enough cash on hand to re-open for sit down service once this is over.
Leo and I will use all the resources we can, but the future looks bleak and the resources that are available may not suffice. What is being offered through the government is changing daily, but eventually most loans will probably have to be repaid and we don’t want to go into debt with such an uncertain economic future which may continue well after Covid 19.
Funds given to this campaign will help keep our takeout window open and our dedicated employees paid. It will help with the rent, utilities, suppliers.
If you can give any amount we are truly grateful. En los quince años que hemos estados abiertos, hemos trabajado fuerte para ser el mejor Restaurante Mexicano que nuestra comunidad se merece. Con nuestra comida tradicional mexicana que está hecha con los mejores ingredientes, nuestro Mariachi Cielo Azul que viene todos los viernes por la tarde, nuestro desayuno en los fines de semanas siempre acompañado con tortillas hechas a mano, nosotros orgullosamente hemos creado empleo para la comunidad, pagado nuestra parte en taxis, donado a organizaciones y escuelas, últimamente ayudamos construir una comunidad.
Con el inicio de COVID-19, nosotros nos encontramos en una situación peligrosa. Nos estamos quedando cortos en dinero para pagar nuestra renta, servicios públicos, sueldos, vendedores de comida, y también asegurar que tengamos suficientes fondos para re abrir nuestras puertas cuando todo esto termine.
Leo e yo vamos usar todos los recursos que podemos, pero el futuro se mira desolado y los recursos que hay disponible no son suficientes. Lo que el gobierno está ofreciendo cambia a diario, pero finalmente todos los prestamos probablemente se van a tener que pagar para atrás. Y con un futuro económico tan incierto no queremos meternos en tanta deuda.
Los fondos donados en esta campaña van ayudar a que nuestra ventana de take out siga abierta y nuestros queridos empleados que sigan con su sueldo en estos tiempos duros.
