Support Our Sister's Fight for Justice and Safety

Our dear sister in Islam has shown incredible courage in the face of unimaginable trauma. From the tender age of 10 to 15, she endured the horrific abuse of her stepfather. Now, years later, she bravely confronted him about his past actions.

Instead of remorse, she was met with violence and terrifying threats against her, her younger siblings, and her husband's life.She immediately sought legal protection and was granted a temporary restraining order. However, her battle is far from over. Her stepfather has hired a lawyer, and the legal process is proving to be a daunting challenge.

Our sister's next court date is June 3rd. She desperately needs legal representation to make the restraining order permanent and to pursue criminal charges against her abuser with the Sacramento District Attorney's office. Beyond the legal fight, she is in urgent need of safe and stable housing and ongoing therapy to heal from the deep wounds of her past and the recent trauma. Her stepfather isolated her, making her believe she was alone and didn't need anyone. Let us show her that our Muslim community stands firmly by her side.

We, her brothers and sisters in Islam, are rallying around our sister to provide her with the support she so desperately needs.

We are seeking to raise funds for:

Legal Fees: To secure strong legal representation for the restraining order hearing and potential criminal proceedings.

Housing: To provide our sister with a safe and secure place to live, free from the fear of her abuser.

Therapy: To ensure our sister receives the crucial mental health support she needs to

heal and rebuild her life.

Our faith calls us to stand with the oppressed and help those in need.

Allah (SWT) says in the Quran:

"And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression.

"(Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:2)

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

"The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion and sympathy are like one body. When one limb suffers, the whole body feels the pain." (Sahih Muslim)

He also said:

"Whoever relieves a believer of some worldly distress, Allah will relieve him of some distress on the Day of Resurrection." (Sahih Muslim)

Let us embody these teachings and show our sister that she is not alone. Let us be the support system her stepfather tried to deny her. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a tangible difference in our sister's life, offering her a path towards safety, justice, and healing.
