Hurricane Melissa recently struck Jamaica as a Category 5 storm, leaving widespread devastation across the island. Many of our team members at O-Ku Alys Beach are from Jamaica and still have close family there who have been deeply affected by this disaster.

One of our team members, Alley, is from Black River, St. Elizabeth. Her family home was completely destroyed in the storm, leaving her loved ones without shelter or stability. Another member of our team, Rohan, is from Manchester. He went days without hearing from his parents or his children as communication across the island was cut off. He was devastated and is traveling to Tampa this week to bring his children to safety and provide them with a secure place to stay.

The stories are heartbreaking, and the road to rebuilding will take significant time, resources, and support. Our team is family, and when one of us is hurting, we all feel it. We are coming together to help our O-Ku family and their loved ones recover, rebuild, and find stability again.
