NikkeiWest Foundation needs your help!

NikkeiWest Northern California’s Japanese American newspaper is now under new ownership.

Concerned about losing a viable way for those who have been relying on the paper for JA news for over 30 years, we purchased the paper to preserve it for that particular community.

The acquisition has been challenging, but at the same time, it has been rewarding with the encouragement of the younger generations whom we initially thought would be of no interest.

While all operational costs have risen over the years, no adjustments were made to offset the economy and the business is now in a drastic deficit. We are currently trying to stay afloat. The paper is now operating under the NikkeiWest Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

We hope to keep the paper in production for our parent’s generation, but our dream is to continue it for future generations.
