Help Bring "Movements" to Life – A Short Film About Dance and Friendship

Hi, my name is Nick Sarkisian, and I’m currently pursuing my MFA in Film at Stony Brook University. As part of my final semester, I’m creating my second short film, "Movements"—a story about a a ballet dancer navigating an intense friendship and her own personal limitations. While in film school this will be my last short I'll be creating at Stony Brook's MFA Film Program in Manhattan. Making a story that's meaningful is important to me. To do that money must be raised to support cast, crew and the short itself.

The Story

"Movements" centers around a ballet dancer Monica, who faces off against a close friend and herself while training in a rigorous dance school. Through this, we delve into themes of competition, vulnerability, and the drive to push past your own boundaries—both in dance and in life. It’s a story of passion, ambition, and, ultimately, self-realization.

Why We Need Your Help

Creating a film of this caliber requires a lot of resources—both financial and logistical. Per school rules our maximum budget is $6,000. However, our goal is to raise $3,000 to cover the essential costs of production, ensuring that every aspect of the film is executed with the quality it deserves. Your donation will help us cover:
