My name is Monique Rosas and I’m a single mom of an 11-year-old son with Autism and ADHD. I am on disability for also being on the spectrum and ADHD. Unfortunately, disability isn’t enough to afford the many bills I have by myself. We currently have been living without electricity for the first 5 days of this month. I hardly have enough to afford my rent, on top of my car payment and flat tire. We now face eviction with receiving a 3-day notice to pay or quit by the 18th of December. I feel like everything is falling apart. I have been struggling to be stable in the last couple of years due to the inflation and state of the economy, I’ve been looking for a part-time job with no luck. I am embarrassed to admit that I cannot be independent financially for my son, let alone myself. I have been charging my phone in my car and had to give away all of my food in my refrigerator because I didn’t want it to go to waste due to us not having electricity. So on top of that, we don’t even have food or a stove to cook. I’m forced to decide between having the lights on or a roof over our head. Ive managed to temporarily get our electricity back on til December 31st, without payment they will be off again. I’ve been having to have my son with his godmother and grandma as they can help me take him to school and meet his basic needs.

I’ve put my pride aside as I’ve run out of options to save our apartment before Christmas. Anything helps!
