Support Mom in Her Cancer Battle

Hello! My name is Nikki and I'm here to try and raise money for medical expenses for my mom, Janell Thordarson, who is battling lung cancer. She was first diagnosed with a blood clot in her lung in the middle of June which was when they found the first mass. She has started chemotherapy and immunotherapy and they are starting radiation this week. Insurance isn't covering the blood thinners that she needs to get through this battle, they are $1,500 a month. People who are prone to blood clots while battling cancer can pay up to an extra $35,000 on top of the other medical expenses when dealing with their blood clots. The donations will go towards helping with these extra expenses that insurance won't cover.

She has been unable to work due to being in so much pain and the risks of her blood clots moving to her heart, lungs, or brain. My mom has put her heart and soul into her job as lead of environmental services at Riverview in Crookston, MN. She cleans, sanitizes, and disinfects hospital rooms so that we can be safe in the rooms that we all find ourselves in when in need of help most. She goes above and beyond for her coworkers and the patients at Riverview. She's amazing at what she does at work and as a mother of 7 and a grandmother of 13.

My dad has also had to take quite a bit of time off work. He's been an amazing and supportive husband taking her to appointments, and taking care of her at home.
