Matthew Eckhard is working toward his Eagle Scout rank by taking on a meaningful project at Little Creek Nature Area. Although Little Creek isn’t in his school district, Matthew was drawn to this project because it’s been on the Nature Area’s wish list for some time, and he’s excited by the challenge it presents. He believes that Little Creek is a special place that gives kids and families a chance to connect with the outdoors, and he wants to help make it even better for everyone who visits.



For his Eagle Scout project, Matthew will be building a new information display board, or message center, to be placed on the far side of the property. This area is accessed by people entering from the park side of the property, and the new display will help them find their way, see a map of the property, and learn more about what Little Creek has to offer. To make this project a reality, Matthew needs to raise funds for materials like lumber, plexiglass, bolts, and nails. Every contribution will help him purchase the supplies needed to build a sturdy, lasting display that will benefit the community for years to come.
