Support Louisiana clinic relocation!

Donation protected
Following the Supreme Court decision in Dobbs and the enforcement of Louisiana abortion bans, abortion is no longer legal in Louisiana except in rare cases. Due to these circumstances, both Women’s Health Care Center in New Orleans and Delta Clinic of Baton Rouge are closed.

Women’s Health Care Center and Delta Clinic have provided respectful, non-judgmental, quality abortion care services in Louisiana for over three decades. We are in the process of finalizing agreements at two other locations, and will soon again provide abortion care services for those in need. We remain committed to our physicians, staff and the women and families of Louisiana, so we will be relocating to another state that respects and values women’s bodily autonomy.

But the clinics need your help! In addition to lawyers’ fees and closing two Louisiana businesses, relocating requires costly licenses, new leases on buildings, and hiring staff. If you’d like to support us in relocating, please consider a donation to our Go Fund Me page. A donation of any amount is welcomed and appreciated.

Since the legalization of abortion in 1973, clinic owners and administrators have played a vital role in ensuring abortion access, attending early meetings in the formation of the National Abortion Federation. Administrators have weathered court challenges, provided testimony during committee hearings, offered media interviews, partnered with national and local organizations in research, provided financial assistance to patients, and coordinated escort programs for the past 50 years.

In 2012, Women’s Health Care Center began offering abortion funding through a partnership with the newly-formed New Orleans Abortion Fund. Two years later, in 2014, the clinic became a founding member and hosted the first meeting of the Louisiana Coalition for Reproductive Freedom, a statewide alliance of organizations and individuals working to ensure sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice through advocacy, law and policy change and movement building.

While our location may change, our work remains the same. In these challenging times, your support is needed more than ever to ensure Louisianans and women across the Gulf South receive the healthcare they need and deserve. We invite you to support us as we move into this next phase of work.
