Help support Lloyd and his medical journe
Spende geschützt
My name is Jennifer and my brother and I are starting a Go Fund Me account for our dad Lloyd Keightley.
Our dad‘s journey started about two years ago when he was in and out of the hospital and has been declining since. In 2022 our dad had a fall at his home and was picked up by ambulance and that is when we found out our dad had liver cancer and onset of dementia, that had been progressing over 6 months. He spent about three weeks in the hospital and was discharged to a rehab facility for PT for two weeks then released home where he wasn’t able to take great care of himself. He had several falls over a few months and after much consideration we ended up taking him back to the hospital to get him reevaluated. There we found out that he had cancer in his spinal
fluid, affecting his central nervous system. Causing issues with his walking and his ability to take care of himself. After being discharged from BJC after a month of being there, we had to make a difficult decision to place him in a nursing home where he would be able to get the care he needed.
Our dad has done so much for others over the years, working hard but in the long run not taking care of himself financially. It came down to my brother and I figuring out Dad’s finances in order to take care of medical bills and the cost of a nursing home, we found out dad didn’t have much of anything to help support himself. Medical bills are piling up and nursing home fees. My brother and I have been struggling since this started to pay for his nursing home which is $11,400 a month and still stacking up. We had to go through all his assets and sell off everything he worked hard for and we are now working on getting his house on the market. It has been a financial hardship being left with nothing to work with.
We are reaching out to family and friends for help so our father is able to stay in his nursing home and help get medical bills paid.
We thank you in advance for any type of contribution, every penny counts.
Thank you,
