Hey everyone, it’s been a while, but I wanted to reach out personally because for almost 10 years I’ve stayed involved with an organization in Detroit called Life Directions, and I’ve seen firsthand how a single opportunity can completely change a young person’s life.

PROBLEM:


Ambition, energy and passion is abundant.

Exposure to what the world has to offer is not.

What is an office? What is an engineer? How can ingenuity drive my career? Kids only know careers and lifestyles they can see outside.

Without mentors, internships, or a network, it is hard to see what paths exist. It is even harder to step into them.

SOLUTION:

Life Directions connects students with young professionals for real mentorship, career exposure, internships, and guidance that can completely shift the direction of their lives. Sometimes ONE relationship or ONE opportunity changes everything.

After 52 years of trust in the Detroit community, this is actually our FIRST time raising money digitally like this. Honestly, I’m excited because this means people like YOU can directly become part of a transformation for one of the most impactful groups of young people in our city.

This summer, we’re trying to make sure students spend their time inside internships, workplaces, mentorship programs, and opportunities instead of disconnected from the environments that could change their future forever.

We also want MORE young professionals involved. Mentors. Connectors. People willing to open doors and simply show students what’s possible. Every $100 donation helps directly create access for a student.
