Support Lalee: A Kind Soul who cares for animals in need

Hello everyone. I'm the sort of person who believes paths cross for a reason. Recently I met a lovely woman, 67-year-old Alair (affectionately known as Lalee) who was fostering a dog for a local animal shelter. Our family was interested in adopting her foster pup. She had the pup for SIX MONTHS. She gave her the love she so desperately needed and trained her so she would be ready for adoption. I had the opportunity to meet her at her home where she shared her love for animals with my daughter and me. During this meeting, she apologized on more than one occasion for the state of her yard, and her house and for the temperature in her home. She explained that her air conditioner is broken and she has been saving for years in order to purchase a new one. I listened as she told me about the dogs she's fostered over the years as well as the volunteer organizations she's volunteered for, including not for profits that assist local animal welfare organizations. Here is what one of the organizations had to say about her:

"Lalee has been the best foster parent I have ever worked with. She is consistent and always up for a challenging case. She is also very patient with our dogs which isn't always easy. I am so grateful for her. In her care she teaches her foster dogs to sit, stay, lay down and most importantly, she gives them love and a home."

She lost her significant other to lung cancer (the same ugly cancer that took my dad) and has been struggling to stay on top of things ever since. She is a native of Brazil and doesn't have family in the US. She retired from her hospital bed at the age 67 after suffering a stroke. She has been struggling ever since. She is too proud to ask for help but I know that she needs it. She is in desperate need of a new air conditioner, a furnace, and is struggling to cover bills that she has. I know how much she has to live on each month and I can tell you that she depends on organizations to assist her with her winter heating bills.

Lalee has given so much to local animal organizations and has never asked for anything in return. She did not ask me to raise money for her. I feel a calling to help her. Any amount you are able to donate would be so very appreciated by her.
