Support Lalah's Dance Education Journey

Hello Family, Friends, Teachers, and Everyone else who has followed along with my journey,

I have had the great pleasure and privilege of being able to continue to do what I love in my collegiate career. I am a Dance BFA performance major at Kent State University in Ohio. My first two years at Kent have been amazing as I have gotten the chance to work with new professors, and different in-demand choreographers, and grow my choreographic voice.

In the past two years, I have been able to accomplish and achieve many things, such as:

-2 year member of Kent Dance Ensemble

-5 MainStage Dance Concerts

-Social Media Manager for 3 Kent State Organizations

-Co-Vice President of the Student Dance Education Organization

-Event Planner and Public Relations for the Black Theatre Association

-Diversity Committee for Amag Magazine

-New Member of Delta Gamma, Gamma Epsilon Chapter

-and much more. I have also have the honor of being the only BFA Dance Performance major in the class of 2026.

As I enter my Junior year of college I am faced with financial hardship. I am unable to register for classes due to a balance still on my account from the prior year. This obstacle that has been placed in front of me is one that came with many tears, late nights and many phone calls with the financial aid department. This has created the likelihood that I will not be able to return to Kent this upcoming Fall(F24) to begin my junior year. My junior year I have many amazing opportunities and experiences ahead of me, such as:

-Being a Student Artistic Director of a "Belonging '24"(A mainstage dance concert)

-Co-President of the Student Dance Education Organization

-Vice President of the Black Theatre Association

-Attending and presenting Original works in Thailand with Kent State's "East Meets West" organization

-Performing in Kent State's performance of " The Wiz"

-Choreographing and helping in leadership for the Student Dance Festival.

Any and all funds raised will go directly to funding my return to school. If you can not donate I greatly appreciate you taking the time out to read this and ask that you share this post.
