Update 2/23/25:
Krueger Update!
Today, Krueger started bleeding from his mouth, was lethargic and lost all ability to control where and when he urinates. Therefore, he was immediately taken to the Emergency Room.
After meeting with the doctor, it is with a heavy heart that I inform you all that Krueger’s condition is not going to get better. The doctor proceeded to explain that under the best of circumstances, Krueger may only have 3 more months to live. The cost affiliated to accomplish these three months would be between $7-10k with no guarantees. To spend this type of money with no guarantees and only a 3-month life span is beyond unacceptable.
Therefore, the vet suggested having Krueger euthanized within the next week or two as eventually, Krueger will begin to suffer and could have seizures, pain, become aggressive, etc., and this perfect boy doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body.
For those who have donated. Thank you very much. Your kindness and generosity allowed Krueger the opportunity of being seen today in the emergency room.
Meanwhile, I have started reaching out to in-home services that will allow Krueger the opportunity to be at home with loved ones while he crosses over the Rainbow Bridge.
Again, thank you all for helping Krueger. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers and pray that I have the strength I need to be present with him when that day comes. Each day, I find myself crying a little more!
In the end, Please remember continuing to help animals in need! No one can do it alone! These animals need us!
Consider fostering or adopting your next pet! Shelters and rescues are full!
HELP KRUEGER!
As a long time cat foster having worked in rescue for several years, and helping others in need, I find myself in a very unpleasant and unexpected situation.
Krueger, our 2-year old male orange tabby is very ill. Krueger came to our home, while I was a foster with Cuddle Buddies Rescue, as a 4-week old kitten. He was accompanied by his 3 sisters, Raven, Tuesday and Salem. It appears Krueger and his 7 siblings were thrown into a swimming pool in hopes they would drown. A Good Samaritan stumbled across these struggling babies and was able to save 5 of the 7. While in our care, a few months later, I foster failed both him and his sister, Raven
In December, while Krueger was eating, I noticed his neck looked extremely swollen, which warranted an immediate visit to his vet. Upon examination, the vet discovered that Krueger had multiple swollen lymph nodes throughout his body. He did a biopsy and took blood. The results showed that Krueger’s kidneys were in distress. At first, we had treated him for FIP due to other unexplained symptoms, but it was later confirmed, FIP was not his diagnosis. Therefore, our focus now is on his kidneys and trying to figure out the infection he currently has which has not yet been able to be identified.
Krueger requires additional treatment with a specialist and as you can imagine, this will be costly. However, without this next level of care, I will have no other choice but to euthanize him. A decision, I really am having difficulty with.
I love my cat very much and do not want the reason for his death to be lack of funding. While I have never once asked anyone for help, I now find myself in a position where I have no choice. This is a horrendous position for anyone to be in.
Any amount you can donate towards Krueger’s care would be most appreciated. Please pass this post along to friends and family members.
Please PAY IT FORWARD and help my boy, Krueger.
Thank you!
