Dear Friends & Family & Church Community,
Grace to You,
Hello, this is Kirk Tegtmeier. I am excited to share today that I will be returning to Southeast Asia this October! When I graduated from undergrad, I was able to live in the Compassionate Hope Phu Sung Village of Hope in Northern Thailand and help teach English and Music at Lanna Christian School, which doubled as a boarding school and orphanage for children who came from situations of abandonment and abuse. The last time I went to Thailand, this experience truly changed my life. As a result, before starting my next job, which will be serving an appointment as a lead ordained pastor within the Global Methodist Church, I am going to spend most of the month of October traveling in Thailand, spending time with missionaries that I had gotten the chance to work with previously and gaining vision for what my next season of ministry will be stateside.
The past two years, I have been getting a Master's in Theological and Biblical Studies at Asbury Theological Seminary, and as I have been blessed to have gotten enriched in Wesleyan Theology, I believe it would be extremely beneficial to go and serve in a part of the world that is not nearly as privileged as what I have been able to do. I believe taking this posture in serving those in lower socioeconomic situations, caring for the orphans and misfortunate, is what true religion consists of.
As I seek to reposture myself in alignment with God's heart for this next season of my life, I believe traveling to Thailand will help me see how big God's heart beats for the least of these.
Here is a video that shows what I got to do last time I was in Southeast Asia. I will be traveling to Chiang Rai to visit the Christian School I was at and several other parts of Thailand on this trip. Thank you for your time. I would be humbled if you were willing to contribute to this cause. I believe this will be impactful for not only my spiritual development but also the kingdom.
God Bless,
Kirk Tegtmeier
