As many of you know my sister Kierstin was diagnosed with late stage Ovarian cancer in March.
Kierstin has always been hardworking and independent. On top of being a full-time parent. And not just a full-time parent, but a very involved mother. Her kids know that they can always count on her to be present. Whether it be sports, band, plays, capo, or just there for love, support, acknowledgment.
She is loved by her family, co workers, friends, friends of friends literally everyone haha. Her bubbly goofy attitude paired with a huge smile is contagious and craved.
As a sister, Kierstin is everything you imagine a sister would be. From laughing to crying, joy to heartbreak, a bite mark or two over a strawberry milkshake and so on. She is the definition of sister and is also my best friend.
Right before her diagnosis Kierstin had started from scratch. Moved back home, worked her butt off and bought her first house, a new car and even earned a promotion at work. Nothing was handed to her and she earned it all.
Not even 6 months into buying her new home for Carly, Eli, and herself Kierstin went to the hospital for some abdomen pain and swelling thinking it was anything other than cancer. But quickly received a shocking cancer diagnosis. And it's been a rollercoaster since.
Two surgeries, multiple scans, procedures, 4 rounds of harsh chemo with more treatments ahead. She is at war with her body. And fighting for her life. And it's daunting. I am proud of the grace she has had through this life altering diagnosis. She wears that big bright smile and goofy attitude like a suit of armor.
Originally she did not want a GoFundMe. People abuse it, and people ask questions. And for someone who is as independent and private as my sister its hard asking for help. So with Kierstins permission I am asking. I am asking to please help ease some of her financial burdens until she is able to go back to work and achieve some normalcy.
I know many close friends and family have helped with meals and meal trains. And that is greatly appreciated. But it's back to school clothes and supplies, comfort items, misc. bills, car payments, house payments etc. that need attention. Things that no one in her position should have to worry about.
Let's help keep her afloat so when she wins this battle with cancer she can carry on with her independence.
And if anyone has any questions, comments, suggestions anything please reach out to me!
Thoughts, love, prayers are always needed ❤️ thank you
