Support Jolanta's Battle with Neuroendocrine Cancer

Hello everyone,

We're devastated by Jolanta's current condition. Jolanta was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroendocrine Cancer in May 2024. In June 2024, she received her first oral chemo treatment in hopes that it would slow down the growth of cancer cells. After completing her third oral chemo session in August, the doctors had done a CT scan to check the progression of the cancer. Unfortunately the oral chemo did not work due to the cancer being extremely aggressive. Her cancer originally began in the gallbladder but had spread to the liver which had already eliminated the option of surgery. New lesions appeared on the liver and the current ones kept growing in size, there was no positive changes. In the beginning of October she was hospitalized due to her blood work results which indicated even higher levels of bilirubin counts than before. She underwent a surgery for a stent insertion in the bile duct to help bile flow. After the surgery, she received her first session of chemo through the iv. She was discharged with hopes that it would be effective however there was no positive change and with saddening news, the doctors decided that the best option is to remove the port and end chemo. She is no longer a candidate for chemo due to its lack of effectiveness and her health going downhill at an extremely fast rate. She is currently on hospice care at home.
