Help John DeTavernier Fight Stage 3B Colon Cancer

On July 29th, 2025, John was diagnosed with Stage 3B colon cancer. He’s completed 25 sessions of radiation and chemotherapy and is now preparing for his next round of treatment starting November 5th, which will continue every two weeks through January 14th, 2026. After this round, doctors will determine whether he’ll need surgery or another course of chemotherapy based on his results.

John continued working for the first three weeks of treatment — a true reflection of his hardworking spirit and determination. But as treatments intensified, his doctors advised him to take time off to focus on recovery. With medical costs and daily expenses adding up, it’s become difficult to keep up with rent, utilities, groceries, and medications.

Our family originally thought a grant John applied for had been approved, but we later learned it was denied due to lack of available funding. This unexpected setback has made things even tougher financially as he continues to focus on healing.
